Eric Hobsbawm

Eric Hobsbawm began teaching at the New School for Social Research in 1986. In 1986, he co-founded the Committee on Historical Studies with fellow scholars Charles Tilly, Louise Tilly, Ira Katznelson, and Aristide Zolberg. Upon retiring in 1989, Hobsbawm was appointed professor emeritus, and continued lecturing in the politics department.
